How I learned to stop worrying about student fees and love Wealthy Affiliate and BANS
I’ll start this page with my own testimonial. I’m a college student of two years (with three more to go) and probably just like you, in addition to my studies consuming a lot of my time, I need to eat, pay the rent, and have some form of social life. In my first year of study I worked a few dead end jobs where I spent an increasing amount of my free time making big money for an unappreciative boss, while I took home nickels and dimes.
As my costs increased, things like rent going up, textbooks and computers for school, raising costs of public transport and fuel, I found my self having to work more and more hours, time I should have been spending studying. It seemed as time went by, I spent more time at work, had less money in my pocket, missed more and more classes and my social life was virtually non-existent.
When it reached the point where it looked like I’d have to choose between work and study, as doing both was becoming impossible, a crazy thought came into my head: “There must be a better way to do this.” Surely it wasn’t impossible for someone with smarts enough to study at college to make enough cash to live off while studying, and only work the amount of hours they could afford to?
So that’s when I started researching ways to make money from home online. I’d read the banner ads and the testimonials, seen the ads on TV and in the paper. They all screamed “Work from home for only hours a day and make thousands!” I know you are screwing your nose up right now, and I did too. Smells like a scam.
Sadly, for the most part, they are scams. No ebook or cd-rom set or series of reports is going to make you thousands of dollars a day for little to no work. Common sense tells us that.
But I started thinking, there must be something to this. Surely they can’t all be scams, right?
So I delved into the world of making cash online. I swam through oceans of get-rich-quick plans, pyramid schemes and the preaching of self-proclaimed gurus whose websites all showed them working from laptops on tropical beaches, with pictures of their 5 storey mansions and exotic sports cars parked out the front. I read the testimonials, signed up for newsletters, and I even bought a few ebooks. And yes, I got scammed. A couple of times. But I didn’t give up.
The more I learned about making cash online, the more I came to realise that, yes, it was possible! There are some resources out there for people just like me, who just want work their own hours, do something that is interesting and fun, and make a steady income from the comfort of their home. And eventually after trying a few different routes I finally found the resources that worked for me.
Fast forward to today. After a year of searching, trying out different methods, techniques and following guides (and after giving my already well-worn credit card a severe beating paying for many, many guides and ebooks that turned out to be scams) I have now got a stable (and ample!) income working from home on my online endeavours. I work only the hours I want, and all my work is done from my living room on my laptop in front of the TV. I’ll never work a grill or tend a bar ever again, and I make over 5 times a week what I made when I was working those dead end job. I make all my classes and my grades are up again, and I’ve even got plenty of time (and cash) to enjoy my social life.
How did I do it? By using the exact methods on the front page of this website. I am only recommending products and methods that I have personally used myself to make money. After my experience getting scammed and laying down hard earned cash that I really couldn’t afford to lose, I feel it’s public service on my part to help fellow students find ways to make a buck and avoid the pitfalls.
Some of the products on this site cost money. I know that students don’t have a lot of that, which is why I’ve also included a free survey program which really worked for me when I was really strapped for cash.
CashCrate is a great way to make some extra dough, and is what I started out with. It’s a survey site, but what separates it from the pack of other survey sites is It actually works. You don’t have to pay any money (Guys, please avoid any survey site that asks you to pay money for membership, they are almost always scams!)
You won’t make thousands or even hundreds doing surveys online, but it is a great method for making cash for very little effort if all you need is a bit of extra beer money each week. Or you could do what I did, and start out with CashCrate in order to make enough dough to afford one of the other methods, like Wealthy Affiliate or BANS.
If you are willing to fork out a bit of cash, I cannot recommend Wealthy Affiliate enough. WA teaches you all about affiliate marketing, and how you can make real money doing it. It is better than any guide out there because it’s not just a guide (although it makes many, many guides available to it's members), it’s a community. A whole community of incredibly friendly people who are willing to help you out at every step, guide you through the process and show you how you can make money at this affiliate marketing game.
The creators of Wealthy Affiliate, Kyle and Carson, who are themselves millionaires from affiliate marketing created this community to help people just like you and me, will even personally help you out when you start, with a brilliant 8-week plan (which will have you earning by the end of the first week), and, get this, personal coaching. These guys, who facilitate a community of thousands of marketers from complete newbs to marketing masters, will personally give you advice on your campaigns, strategies, and even help you out if you aren’t making enough cash.
The best part about WA though, is the community. With thousands of members of all skill levels, and a real desire to help each other out and make sure every member of the WA family is reaching their goals, you’ll find a staggering amount of support, ideas, helpful tips and friendly faces to chat about affiliate marketing. WA is the best thing that ever happened to anyone interested in affiliate marketing, and what I’ve learned there has paid for their modest membership cost over and over and over again.
As for BANS, I personally use it for a bit of passive income (The best sort of income, the kind you don’t really have to do any work for!). You use BANS to create online stores linked to eBay’s affiliate program. What this means is, you can create webstores linked to any interest or product whatsoever, and BANS will populate that store with products from eBays database. If a visitor to your store decides to buy, BANS transports them to eBay to buy it, and you get a percentage of the sale.
Basically what you get is a webstore that makes you cash, and all you have to do is promote it. No worries about stock, inventory, mailing or keeping track of orders. And the best part is, BANS is fun! I have 9 BANS stores (you can make as many as you want), and treat them as a little hobby on the side, and they still make me a few hundred bucks a week. I often use techniques learned from WA to promote them! BANS gives you the potential to make big cash if you want to push and promote your stores hard, or after a small amount of initial work can make you a steady stream of cash virtually hands free.
So that’s my testimonial! Sorry it turned out to be a lot longer than I’d planned, but as you can probably tell I’m really excited about my little moneymaking business I’ve got going, and I’m keen to share it with the rest of the world, and especially other students. I came to your site today from your link in the forum and thought i'd share my own little story for your testimonials!
Ive been using bans for about six months now and I have to say it's awesome!! I make little web shops selling jewellery, bags and designer clothes. My boyfriend showed me about bans and when I started I had no idea how to make a website or do anything technical on the web (computers hate me heehe).
I'm a student too so the money really helps, although it goes up and down I can make 200 dollars on a good week and thats coming from someone who knows nothing about the web and I only work on it a few times a week. bans pays my rent dude!! hehee Only thing that bugs me is the cheques sometimes take aaaaaages to clear but other than that its all gravy!! Note: Bec is from Australia and international checks take 30 days to clear over there.
Cool site Im gonna look wealthy affilliate once I get a few more stores running, it seems pretty sweet too, ive just started doing articles for my shops so i hope it will help with all that jazz!
